FREE Wellness Activities @ QC Circle

An exercise tip: If you really intend to run, join a marathon and avoid venues with too much cafes or restaurants.

When was the last time you visited the Quezon City Circle?  For better photos, click here.  My late father brought me and my siblings there during our childhood for bike rides.  During that time, that was the only activity available.  Now, they have more activities to offer.  Aerobics and ballroom classes, badminton, basketball, etc.  They even got Nestle to host Free wellness activities all around the monument’s compound.  Below are the list of venues where Nestle provide their free wellness activities.  I’ll just let the photo speak for itself, ayt?

At 6 in the morning, today, my mom asked me to drive for my youngest brother.  She asked me to bring him there for his daily exercise.  I obliged with the intention of doing my own physical activity which is running and walking the dog.

Arrived there five minutes after, paid 15 pesos for the parking, and went to our preferred exercise activity.  As you may already know, before any running takes place, you need to warm up.  So, I walked.  I probably walked too much because I ended up not running but having an early breakfast at one of my father’s favorite restos.

How can one focus with too many distractions?  With these kinds of places, do people come here to work out or eat out?  What would you do?

Big Better Burgers

Big Better Burgers now open in SM Cubao, Quezon City.

Most of my friends know that I love hamburgers.  In fact, I am in search of the best, biggest, and tastiest burgers in town.  So, if you have one let me know.  Post a comment of your favorite burger or burger joint in town and let’s dine in and grab a bite.

Big Better Burgers are reasonably priced.  It may be more expensive than your usual fastfood burger, but I guarantee the taste is substandard.  This, I believe should be the standard for all burgers.

I tried their Fish Fillet Sandwich.  Payed 130 pesos for it and went home satisfied.  I tried to put condiments such as ketchup, hot sauce and mustard.  No need for all those.  For the sandwich already tastes great with its own sauce.

Let me know if you are in the vicinity.  Let’s dine in together.

Merienda and Surfing at Cafe Quezon

When it is this hot in your neighborhood, or wherever you are, what do you do to stay cool?  Fortunately for me there are air-conditioned restos near my home.  One of them that I recently visited is Cafe Quezon.  It’s located at #179 Maginhawa St., Sikatuna Village, Quezon City.  Their telephone numbers are 928-8534 and +63 920-961-5256.

Music here is very relaxing and food price is reasonable.  I like the fact that they have wifi.  Where, I believe, most restos can’t do without.  My dear friend Ron, I hope you’re reading this. hahaha.  Before you are allowed to use their wifi, your tab must have a minimum amount of 150 bucks.  Nowadays, 150 is a very small amount.

This is an incomplete  menu, I just want to show you their prices and what they are offering.

Now that’s how the place looks like from the inside.  If you are in Sikatuna or Teacher’s Village, I encourage you to pass by.

When you have tried out this place, please let me know what your experience was.

Una-Sikat’s ComPares in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City

I’ve been a resident of my community for 3 decades.  More than a decade ago, Una-Sikat opened.  Formerly, it was called Una-Sikat Pares.  Haven’t interviewed the owner, but I think Una-Sikat is Sikatuna manipulated.

Ate dinner last 7 March 2010 and found out of its new name.  Now It’s called Una-Sikat’s ComPares and here’s what their current signage looks like:

"Paresan at Bulalohan in Sikatuna"

And here’s how it looks like inside.  It’s not airconditioned.  Entrance very open.  Maybe this is their secret to their success.  It somehow makes you feel welcome.

You assumed correctly… with this kind of setup, food prices are definitely cheap.  You can have a decent meal for a hundred bucks.  Here’s what’s written in their menu as of the 7th day of March 2010.  In any resto it’s safe to expect a 5% increase in price yearly due to inflation.

There… If ever you visit Sikatuna Village, drop by this place.  It’s along Anonas Avenue, between Kamias and V.Luna.  Call me and I’ll gladly give you directions.  Jonas 926-7420 or mobile 425-9775 or you may simply call them 924-8887
