Jesus Willingly Taken

John 18:11

But Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword back into its sheath. shall I not drink from the cup of suffering the Father has given me?”

Do you resist God‘s plan? Jesus who possessed supernatural powers didn’t. He could have fought for His freedom but, He decided to surrender to God’s will and did not resist.

Just yesterday, my laptop got busted. So, excuse me for now for I’m doing this on mobile. Nothing fancy for now. No photos!

As I was saying, the laptop just ceased to boot up. My cousin, a technician, said, “No POST!” Or, simply, hardware trouble. Now, I’m rationalizing to get a new one. Even if it means gettng a loan! Talk about trying to force your way rather than listening to what our Father is trying to say.

In today’s reading, our Father revealed to me to let go. Just surrender! Especially, when you’re about to sin.

In every event in our lives, our Father is telling us something. Are we listening? Or, are we too stubborn and simply do what our whims say?

When was the last time you asked for our Father’s plan? When did you or, will you completely surrender?

Glory to the Father!

Jesus Teaches About the New Life

John 3

Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. – John 3:5

Were you baptized when you were an infant? I was. Did it make you a true believer and a disciple of Christ? I doubt it. For it really takes a spiritually mature person to decide when he or she should be baptized.

When I was submerged in water, looking back, I’m not really sure if I have entered the kingdom of our Father. Or, if ever I was completely born again. This is so, because I continued to live like the rest of the world. I didn’t show I was a new being. Though I was certain of my salvation, something was missing. It was the Holy Spirit. It wasn’t with me because I was still living sinfully. I wasn’t seeking it the way a new being should.

When was the last time you reminded yourself that you are a spirit? Have you acknowledged the existence of the kingdom of God? When was the last time you called the Holy Spirit to your aid? Are you now living spiritually and for eternity?

Glory to the Father.

Received Jesus as the only way to salvation on September 25, 2010.

Baptized on June 18, 2011

Call to Speak

Jeremiah 1 – 17

But the LORD said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. – Jeremiah 1:7

How many of us are called to speak in behalf of God? How many of us are making excuses not to do the great commission of making disciples of all nations?

Just like Jeremiah, I don’t feel confident sharing God’s word. Why? Basically because of fear. I fear for I am very young spiritually. Or, maybe, I just see myself young?! Now I understand that it doesn’t really matter how you see yourself. What matters is how God sees you.

Needless to say, if you are called to speak, you should speak. Or else, you suffer consequences.

Are you shy to speak God’s word because you feel young? If this is so, may I encourage you to speak His word?

Glory to God.

Sacrifices Required Under Law

Leviticus 5:14-19

“If a person sins and does what is forbidden in any of the LORD’s commands, even though he does not know it, he is guilty and will be held responsible.” – Leviticus 5:17

How is your study of God’s law? Ignorance of the law is definitely no excuse. So, we all should know what His decrees are. Or else, you know where we are heading.

Dear Friend, please try to read the Bible first thing in the morning. Make it a habit. I guarantee your sins will be revealed. When your sins are revealed, you can ask for pardon and resolve not to do it again.

May all of us be saved from His wrath.

What’s your ideal time for reading the Bible?

Glory to God.

Punishments for Sin Under Law

Leviticus 20:7-17

“Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.” Leviticus 20:7-8

What are you doing lately to set yourselves apart for Him? How does one consecrate himself?

Keeping one’s body healthy may be one option. If a person wants to be holy, he needs to keep his body healthy. He needs to have proper nutrition. Is it not difficult to do God’s work if you’re heavy? If you always feel tired, do you think you have the energy to do all the spiritual practices?

So, what are you doing today to set yourself apart from this world?

Fall of Humanity

Genesis 3:1-19

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. – Genesis 3:6

Ever wondered how we start to sin? In this verse, God revealed it all starts from one look. Here’s the anatomy of sin: S.T.A.G.

  1. See
  2. Think
  3. Acquire
  4. Give

Way back in high school or college. I remember myself watching pornography. At first glance (‘see’) it seems harmless. It’s just like any movie with people not having clothes on. The more I look at the photos or titles of the movie, the more I ‘think’ about it. After thinking about it and decided on a tape, (back then it was in VHS or betamax format) I decide to ‘acquire’ it and watch it. Anyway, after acquiring and watching it, I ‘give’ or share it with my buddies.

May God forgive me for all my transgressions! For I really don’t know how many times I’ve stumbled.

Now do you see how sin not only corrupts one person? Most of the time you take someone with you when you sin.

I pray you learned from my mistakes and vow to try not to sin again. It’s going to be difficult, but with God’s grace everything is possible.

Glory to God.

Originator of Prophesy

Isaiah 53:1-12

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. – Isaiah 53:6

Here’s a God-given prophesy for our eternal lives… It is certain that if we keep turning away from God and keep choosing our earthly ways instead of His, we die and go to hell. But if we accept Jesus Christ as our only lord and savior, we live and have eternal life in heaven.

During my childhood years, I remember a palm reader and soothsayer often visits us at our family’s compound. She’s there to make a living telling everyone about their futures. She read everyone’s palms and confidently predicted our fate. I clearly remember her saying: “Ah, this boy will marry someone from a different country for he will be a pilot who will go around the globe.” It really sounded good that time. But the false prophet’s prophesy didn’t come true. I was a fool for believing her even for a short time.

So, dear friend, don’t waste anymore your resources going to these kinds of people. For your guess may be better than theirs. I submit to you God’s prophesy. It already has stood the test of time.

Are you still like a lost sheep? Please accept Jesus as your lord and savior now.

Glory to God.
