Holder of Satan’s Reigns

Job 1:1-12

The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. – Job 1:12

In this passage, God reveals His total control over everything. Satan can’t even do anything without God’s approval! Satan can’t even lay a finger on God’s people! A very powerful reminder why God reigns supreme!

Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people like Job? Why does He allow good things to happen to bad people? These questions forever puzzled me, but I think I’m beginning to see why. As long as I am on earth, I am within Satan’s grasp. The closer I get to God, the more Satan wants to destroy me and my relationship with the Father in heaven. That’s his job! He doesn’t want me there!

I never had tests like Job had. I hope I never experience those extreme tests of Faith! I really think it’ll come when I get closer and closer to Him. When my test come, I just hope and pray I am mindful enough to think in a godly perspective and ace it just like Job did.

Glory to God.

Supporter of the Underdog

1 Samuel 17:1-54

David asked the soldiers standing nearby, “What will a man get for killing this Philistine and ending his defiance of Israel? Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?” 1 Samuel 17:26

How are we viewing our gigantic problems? Are we viewing it like the rest of the world? Or, are we viewing it like David using a Godly perspective? Everyone, even the King Saul, saw Goliath as someone scary and invincible. But, a simple shepherd like David saw him as a mere pagan.

In this world most people admire the self-confident and aggressive. But, almost  no one notices those who are Christ-confident and passive. In this world most idolize the rich and famous. But, does anyone notice the poor and rejected? How many people on this planet trust soothsayers more than the living Word? Most people want the best and be the first. No body want to be the least and last.

If you have noticed, common thinking is very different from godly thinking. I think the point I am driving at is… Our gigantic problems are so small in relation to God. Just like David, if God is with us, there’s really nothing to fear. To Him nothing’s impossible. Time to change perspectives, don’t you think?
