The People Demand A King

1 Samuel 8

But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD. – 1 Samuel 8:6

What do you often do when you’re displeased with something? Do you force your way in to it? Or, do you pray and seek the Father’s guidance?

I believe that our Heavenly Father has already spoken. He has given the Bible to guide us. But, often times we prefer our way instead of His. Just like in today’s reading, people wanted a king. God gave the warning. But, the people forced their wants. The Bible also has all the warning signs we need. We need to study it in order for us to see our Father’s will. The question is, will we accept His awesome plans for us?

How often do you ask our Heavenly Father for your wants? And when was the last time you asked for His will?

Glory to God.

Cycles of Disobedience

Judges 2:10-19

Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for them, he was with the judge and saved them out of the hands of their enemies as long as the judge lived; for the LORD had compassion on them as they groaned under those who oppressed and afflicted them. - Judges 2:18

How many times have we sinned? How much more of God‘s compassion do we need to seriously turn to Him? What do we need to repent?

I have fallen so many times. I am just thankful that God is patient and is full of grace. He has given me more time to repent and turn to Him. Are you doing the same thing?

I think I’ve said this before in one of my older posts. Currently, I am a bank’s slave. This is so because I turned away from God, followed my own appetites and got in to debt. I think I was serving the god of materialism. Now, I am crying out and turned to God so that He can free me from this bondage or slavery. I know I will be delivered soon. I just hope I won’t fall again in to the enemy’s trap. Will you please pray for me?

Are you serving other gods? Wouldn’t you want to be free? How can I pray for you today?

Glory to God?

Obedience From Love

Deuteronomy 11:13-21

“So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul— then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil.” – Deuteronomy 11:13-14

If you’re obeying God, are you doing it out of fear or love? May I suggest you do it out of love?

First you need to accept that Jesus died for you. Because of this, you are saved. But, you need to accept Jesus wholeheartedly like the thief on the cross. He believed and therefore was saved.

This is the time when one can dutifully follow out of love and gratitude. If you follow Him out of love, God’s first blessing will be overflowing joy. When you’re joyful, the more you want to please Him.

How about it, dear friend. Are you willing to give it a try?

Glory to God.

Sacrifices Required Under Law

Leviticus 5:14-19

“If a person sins and does what is forbidden in any of the LORD’s commands, even though he does not know it, he is guilty and will be held responsible.” – Leviticus 5:17

How is your study of God’s law? Ignorance of the law is definitely no excuse. So, we all should know what His decrees are. Or else, you know where we are heading.

Dear Friend, please try to read the Bible first thing in the morning. Make it a habit. I guarantee your sins will be revealed. When your sins are revealed, you can ask for pardon and resolve not to do it again.

May all of us be saved from His wrath.

What’s your ideal time for reading the Bible?

Glory to God.

Punishments for Sin Under Law

Leviticus 20:7-17

“Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.” Leviticus 20:7-8

What are you doing lately to set yourselves apart for Him? How does one consecrate himself?

Keeping one’s body healthy may be one option. If a person wants to be holy, he needs to keep his body healthy. He needs to have proper nutrition. Is it not difficult to do God’s work if you’re heavy? If you always feel tired, do you think you have the energy to do all the spiritual practices?

So, what are you doing today to set yourself apart from this world?

Are you planning to bring home a new puppy?

There was a time when me and my brother bred dogs. After 10-12 weeks of taking care of a litter, most puppies are ready to go to their new homes. I say most because some puppies may need more time to stay with their mommy.

Anyway, when giving away a puppy and sending them off to their new home, I find it helpful tp give the new owners something to bring from the puppy’s old home. It should have the ‘scent’ of their mother, littermates and caretaker. A blanket, towel or a caretaker’s recently used shirt will do. As long as it has the scent of all those I mentioned above.

Did you know that putting a ticking clock near your new puppy may help soothe him? This article say it simulates their mother’s and littermate‘s heartbeats! This I didn’t know until I read this article. Your Puppy: Exploring His New World
